Project overview

About the project

John Coltrane’s music was never confined by geography. His work reached toward Africa, India, the Middle East, and beyond in search of deeper rhythmic language, expanded harmony, and spiritual breadth. The World Within draws from that legacy and transforms it into a vivid contemporary performance experience.

Led by saxophonist and bandleader Irwin Hall, the ensemble reimagines Coltrane’s music and influence through a wide musical lens while remaining grounded in the improvisational force of jazz. The result is a program that feels both adventurous and immediate.
